Mit Bestürzung und Trauer haben wir vom Tod Sean Donnellan erfahren. Sean war kein aktiver Marathonruderer, aber er begleite seine Söhne und das irische Team seit fast 30 Jahren zum Rheinmarathon. Er war die gute Seele des irischen Teams. Es war schön zu beobachten, welchen Spaß ihm der Rheinmarathon am Samstag auf dem Clubgelände bereitet hat. Wir werden das Lächeln und den Sinn für Humor von Sean Donnellan nie vergessen. Mit ihm wurde jeder Augenblick lustig und unterhaltsam. Sicherlich werden Sean und Doc sich im Himmel treffen und den Rheinmarathon weiter beobachten. Vielleicht finden Sie einen Konsens, ob Guinness oder Alt, dass bessere Bier ist. Sean war eine außergewöhnliche Person und Bestandteil der phantastischen Freundschaft zwischen dem Fermoy Rowing Club und dem Ruderclub Germania. Wir werden diese Freundschaft in Gedenken an ihm auch in Zukunft pflegen. Unsere Gedanken sind bei seiner Familie und seinen Liebsten.
The Rhine Marathon has lost a good friend.
It is with dismay and sadness that we have learned of the passing of John Patrick Donnellan. John was not an active marathon rower, but he accompanied his sons and the Irish team to the Rhine Marathon for almost 30 years. He was the good soul of the Irish team. It was great to see the fun he had at the Rhine Marathon on Saturday at the club site. We will never forget John Donnellan's smile and sense of humor. He made every moment fun and entertaining. Surely John and Doc will meet in heaven and continue to watch the Rhine Marathon. Perhaps find a consensus on whether Guinness or Alt, is that better beer. John was an extraordinary person and part of the fantastic friendship between Fermoy Rowing Club and Ruderclub Germania. We will continue to cherish that friendship in his memory. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones.
